Services for Children
Throughout Carolina Outreach’s 10 year history of providing high quality mental health services in Durham, Orange, Chatham, Wake, Buncombe and most recently Cumberland Counties, our goal has been to ensure that all children receive services that will help promote a higher quality of life for the child and his or her family. Carolina Outreach approaches all children and families using core values that emphasize the rights and the dignity of individuals, while assessing a wide range of variables that are impacting the individual and family at the time of treatment.
We focus on meeting the child and family where they are, assuming positive intent and focusing on strengths, some visible and some yet undeveloped. Our goal is to empower our clients to be in charge of their own treatment when possible, to empower our clients’ parents or guardian to be the decision makers for their families and to eventually make enough progress in treatment to get to a place where relying on professional support to function successfully is not needed. We strive to match the needs and values of each client/family with culturally competent staff and treatment approaches that are evidence based when possible and appropriate.
Carolina Outreach’s approach to service delivery also includes an ongoing quest for growth and learning both from the clients that we serve and from our staff whose engagement in professional development needed for refining effective practice is supported.
